Powder and Rails:R.P.M.

Get a lesson in style from Cardiel, Salasnek, Roach, Lynn, Ranquet, Iguchi and many more.

This mid-season 94’ release from Fall Line Films; “R.P.M.” showcases the new school scene of flannel, big pants and plenty of “butters”. Utilizing a roadtrip format and featuring snow/skate legends Salasnek, Roach and Cardiel; “R.P.M.” takes the viewer deep into technical progression circa 1993.

The emerging California snowboard park scene has a big presence in this video. SoCal guys like Bryan Iguchi and Dave Downing handle business at Bear Mountain’s “Outlaw Park”. In Iguchi’s part, we’re pretty sure he does the first ever-filmed backside 1080. Meanwhile, Grass Valley locals like Chris Roach, Aaron Vincent, and Noah Salasnek get “Jibassic” at NorCal’s Boreal. Then Jamie Lynn joins them and The Boreal segment becomes one of the coolest things ever documented in a snowboard video.

The Northwest legends Mike Ranquet and Jamie Lynn shred powder lines at Mt. Baker. Ranquet does a solo helicopter guided backcountry segment.

To top it all of there’s a lot of awesome tunes provided by bands like Dead Kennedys, Melvins, Monster Magnet, and Supersuckers.

Last Day, Last Chair, Last Run

Well the season is officially over in the Jungfrau Region. Skin and myself headed up to Shilthorn for one last shred today and once again it turned out to be real fun. We shot a few pics that turned out great.

Thanks for the good times Shilthorn and all involved. You opened my eyes to how much fun piste riding really can be.

Nick Boserio Insite

Its been a morning of WA skater. This time East Perths Nick Boserio absolutely killing it, as usual. One of the best styles in skateboarding in my opinion. I just love watching him skate.

Sammy D's last day on snow

Had a great day in Gstaad today spite the annoyingly long T and the freezing temperatures. Skinny, Marky, Kaspar, Rino and myself made the most of what the piste had to offer for Sammy D's last ride of 2011. Hopefully i can get a video together of our April footage soon.

Every Third Thursday Terry Kidwell

Gstaad Park Tbar Closed For The Season

Yesterday we awoke to the devastating news that the T bar that services the park in Gstaad is officially shut down for the season due to a problem with the transmission.
Disappointed, we headed back up to Shilthorn to see if we could find anything fun to hit. The weather has recently gone back to warm spring conditions making it even more difficult to find fun features. We spent the morning searching whats still open in the resort. After a few hours all we could really find was a rope jump that was a little bit too sketchy to keep hitting.
With our tail between our legs we almost thought that would be it for the day and a beer and pommes at Burg was sounding much more inviting then continuing to ride the over slushy piste. But Marky hadnt had enough just yet so he suggested we go back to the house which we have been hitting quite a bit lately eat lunch and see how we feel after.
Once lunch was done the motivation levels hadnt rose much but Skinny thought getting up on the house and bomb dropping off, might be a fun way to kill some time.
Just like that the session was on. We spent the next 2 hours jumping off the house and shooting sequences.
As we were leaving Mark looked over and pointed out a cool looking pillow that would be very doable with 10 min of shoveling. We got to work and it all came together. These are some of the many pics we got of the day.

R.I.P Gibson Park

I am probably a little late on this but its hard to keep up having not been in Australia for almost a year and a half.
After several decades of shredding, East Freo's Gibson Park, aka the Netball Banks has been smashed and replaced with a limestone wall. Its sad to see another one of my favorite Perth street spots torn to the ground. R.I.P

And yet another super fun day

The things I like most about spring time shredding after the park is closed is 1. Low expectations of what your ride will be like 2. Having to look for different features to hit and 3. Building your own features to hit.
Today was another day of going up the mountain just to get out of the village but it turned out to be yet another really fun day. The house hit from a few days earlier was looking a bit miserable but after some quick shoveling, it was ready to go and a super fun session got under way. Sammy, Simon, Skinny and myself had a few hits each at the spot and even managed to film some shots. After that we built a small kicker in the last bit of pow we could find and though it didnt work quite as we had hoped, it was a real fun hit all the same. Hopefully we will get a few more days at the house when the sun is properly shining before the Swiss winter season is officially over again for another year. Attached are some frame grabs of the house. Hope you like them.

Back Shortly

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, been busy moving house and without a laptop. Hope to be back online by weeks end

Surprise! Spring time POW

Got pretty inspired after watching the Guch episode yesterday so I went up to Shilthorn to see if I could have some fun on the piste. To my surprise there was still a pinch of pow left from the 30cm dump 2 nights before. Together with my friend Simon we seeked out 3 super fun hits. A drop/roller thing, a natural high speed hip and a house gap that my brother and friends were hitting way back in 2007 but havent seen it built up the same way since. We only managed to film one run before our session got shut down due to clouds. Here is a very ruff frame grab sequence I threw together of the drop roller thing. Hope you like.

April Update

Just a quick update as to what we have been up too lately. Our local mountain First closed for the season a bit over a week ago but our season hasnt finished just yet.
We have been getting out to Glacier 3000 in Gstaad any chance the weather allows it and have had some cracking days. Gstaads 5 perfect kicker line along with some cool jibs has been alot of fun and a great place to learn some new tricks. We have been shooting quite a bit of footage too so will have a edit online for everyone to see in the next week or so.
We are also hoping to head to one of the glaciers in the Tirol region in Austria but ill let you know more about that when we do. For now here are a few frame grabs of glacier 3000.
