Steemys 30th and other August fun

So Steemy flew over from Norway for a month to celebrate his birthday and catch up with us suckers in Perth. Along with him a couple of our Austrian friends in Claus and Kevin were in town, add Rick from Melbourne and Tim from SA and we knew it was gonna be a blurry couple of days.

Picked up the boys from the airport on Friday arvo with the temperature sitting at a nice 23degrees Celsius. Most of the boys had been chasing snow for the last few weeks or hanging in rain ridden Melbourne town so we thought we would make the most of the conditions and hit up the infamous Fremantle Woolstores ledges. This skate spot is a massive icon in the WA skate scene having featured in sections all over the world, look out for the spot next time you are watching the Lakai vid. rick 5050

Rick being the keenest skater of all the boys was stoked to see the spot and it was good to get it out of the way straight from the airport cause we all had a feeling that the alcohol onslaught would prevent us from going for another roll. Hopefully next time he visits my knee will be better and we can go for a proper session.swiss shredder. fakie nose slide bigspin out

From there we cruised down to Little Creatures Brewery for the first of the frothies and then onto a park bench up my way so the boys could see the sunset over the water. super romantic!

Saturday night was a cracker with a solid crew at the party then we topped off the weekend with a nice little Sunday booze up before the boys were out on Monday.

Cheers for all the good times, epic to catch up with a bunch of crew that we only normally see in the northern hemi winter when the snow is falling.

The image we used at the top of our page was poached from the dedicated-project.com website that we have spoken about previously on this page. The shot was actually taken by a buddy from Switzerland Pascal Imhof in March of this year. Known as Pi to his friends he is an original shredder from the Berner Oberland who used to compete around Europe in contests like the Burton Open.

He can now be found tearing up in the park at Bargelegg, way out on the backside wall in the pipe above Schreckfeld or hunting pow in the region. He also judged Terje's TAC this past winter during the introduction of the new TTR judging format that is being ran at all 6star slope and pipe contests this season.

I followed the link to his webpage the other day and was blown away by some of the images I found. I suggest you take a geez yourself, you wont be disappointed, some amazing landscape and lifestyle shots that will make you want to jump on a plane or appreciate home, depending on your location.

Jungfraujoch, the best new skatespot in Switzerland?

Well maybe not quite. I just noticed this picture on the cover of a magazine I found coming back from Vancouver Island. There was no story about the shot in the mag and i have spent the last hour on the internet trying to find one, with no luck. But there you have it... Massive kick flip (im guessing), down the 12 stair, to cheese grater landing at the highest point in Europe.... Gnarly

I dont know Ben personally but i have been following his work for many years and seen him develop into an amazing filmer. He grew up in my area and him and his crew including the likes of Carine locals Quade Baker and Philip Marshell are starting to get lots of well deserved recognition in the Australian skate scene. Bordum can produce some good things sometimes. I've been aimlessly surfing the deep blue internet for the last few hours while Law and Order drones along in the background.
Not looking for anything in particular, I subconsciously started punching in the word spacecraft into the search engine. I knew the sort of stuff id find once I got there but after not checking this site for a longtime I was stoked at some of the new art they have got posted up.

Shared a few beers with Ryan and Jami from spacecraft one pow day in Switzerland a few years ago after meeting them through a mutual friend. Good crew.
