Yeh Bird! Was SUP?

Pretty unusual for us to have surfing on the page, two in a row is a first for sure but this is something which I had to write about.

A good friend of ours works as a graphic designer for surf apparel brand, Rusty. When he was thrown a sequence of Josh Kerr doing a massive frontside punt he decided to poke a little fun at Stand up paddle boarding.

The ad seen below has caused quite a stir in the world of your grandads favorite sport with SUP'er worldwide asking for a boycott of the brand after it was run in Surfer Mag in the USA. Some pretty funny banter can be found online in you type in 'rusty SUP ad' into your browser.

Well done bird.

WLNowhere Competition

Well its on again this year. The Can YOU Cut IT? competition from Whitelines and Absinthe. This is probably the best editing competition going around at the moment. I really love the concept. Due to the amount Ive been working and riding I really didnt get as much time as i would of hoped into doing this edit but I gave it my best shot. Check it out and fingers crossed for the comp.

Powder and Rails:Mike Ranquet Final Ep

With his exploits at Mt. Baker and eventually Alaska, Ranquet elevates his riding above the level of “skate-freestyle dude” to become one of the first all-mountain freestyle rippers. Toward the end of the 90’s, however, the focus of the ever-evolving freestyle snowboarding changes and Mike contemplates his own direction. We end this story kind of like we started it: with Mike skating vert. Now in Maui and fully recuperated from his hip replacement surgery, Ranquet shows us he can still rip a ramp like it’s 1992.

These days I follow a lot of online series' but if you asked me what was the first one that I truely followed there is no doubt it would be Epically Later'd. I saw the first ep of Dustin Dollin the day it came out 4 years ago and have been captivated ever since.
Series 3 looks like it is going to be interesting to say the least. I cant wait. And I really do hope Kareem does get on board. It would be epic.

ELIAS ELHARDT - WORLD EXCLUSIVE

Elias Elhardt is a shred from Germany, He was coming up fast in the Junior ranks in the middle of last decade winning pretty much everything he entered and on the tip of everyone's tounges. All was looking peachy until he was struck down with lung troubles that kept him off snow for a season.

Fast foward to the present and he is well on his way to establishing himself as one of the shining lights on the ttr, currently sitting at 10th after a 3rd place at the Air and Style in China.

On top of all the contest glory he seriously kills the powder. I first noticed him in a Rip Curl video from a season or two back where he had by far the standout part and was ruling the natural terrain.

Here is another edit from him and his buddies enjoying a day at the Penken Park which is one of the funnest parks we have ever ridden in one of the sickest valleys anywhere, the Ziller! And to top things off we have an exclusive interview to boot.
