The day that got away

On Saturday the 17th it was opening day for the Jungfrau Region. We woke up Saturday morning to a massive snow fall but no idea what to do as the light was terrible.
I called Oska and after alot of thought and a phone call that told us lifts were opening at 11 we decided to head out to Saanen once again to try have some more fun in those trees.
The weather Inti wasnt great but it wasnt to bad either. So we decided the drive shouldnt be too bad and headed off. As we turned the corner at Speiz the roads got worse and by the time we had passed Zweisimmen we were in one of the biggest blizzards ive ever seen and the roads were terrible. We might as well been driving on a piste.
We were taking it very slow and only managed to have one close call that resulted in a lost hub cap. To top it off once we finally arrived in Saanen we were quickly informed that the lifts were closed and would not be opening as scheduled due to high winds, avy danger and the pisten bullys being frozen. We then proceeded to slowly make our way back to Inti, not befor getting stuck in the carpark on a snow wall for 45min. We didnt strap in that day. Oh well you live and learn. Theres always tomorrow.
