Pontus Alv-Polar Skate Co

After finding out about Blackcross Bowl I went over to Pontus Alvs blog to find out what he has bee up too lately. Turns out as of Saturday he has started his own board company Polar Skate Company. This is some truly amazing news and i cant wait to get one of his decks. You probably wont see this in your local skateshop for a while but if you do be sure to show your support. Company's like this is a step in the right direction for skateboarding. Here is what Pontus had to say about Polar Skate Co.

My living room just turned into a warehouse.

I just came back from Hamburg with a van full of boards. Ha ha look at me a “official company owner” and I just turned myself pro again!!! Well I will be real busy the next years to make this dream come through. I have been thinking about starting my own thing for about 7 years ever since I quit Cliché. I don´t know what took so long to make up my mind and go for it. I mean sure I did focus on my two films… They took up a lot of energy….I just think I have been scared of the idea of having my own thing.

My visions and ideas are really high and I never seattle for less. If I could I would love to make every single step in the production, make the graphic, cut out the shape, design the concave print it sign it and ship it out etc. Well anyway it is on.

In the following weeks I will work on:

Do a official website.
Do some kind of catalog
Design some t-shirts, caps and other cool things.
Design loads of special shapes for future boards. I want to make them all. I love special shapes, small, big, square, short, long you name it. Special shapes rules.
Do a lot of skateboarding since I am pro again…
We are already working on our first film…
Go to Bright trade-show…
Oh yeah I forgot I have to try to sell the boards too….Ha so make some phone calls to skateboard shops.
Do more hand painted boards…
Work with a lot of great people, photographers, artist, film makers etc.
Go on tour with the team and all our friends. Meet other skateboarders and session together.
Have a lot of fun.
Build more great DIY spots.
Keep being creative and fun, inspire others to inspire yourself.
Give back as much as possible to skateboarding and skateboarders.

Oh yeah the company is called Polar Skate Co.
The german edition is out on the market already. So if you live in germany and want to support this little company just give Richie / MDCN a call for more info. Each board is signed and some of the boards comes with presents….

More about all this real soon. Now I take a break. Back on monday.

Here are some previews from this week in Hamburg.
